Memory Loss and Confusion

In the later stages of the disease, a person with Alzheimer’s may not remember familiar people, places or things. Situations involving memory loss and confusion are extremely difficult for caregivers and families and require much patience and understanding.

What is amnesia?

Amnesia is a form of memory loss. It can be caused by many conditions such as dementia or traumatic head injuries. In some cases, amnesia goes away without treatment. In other cases, your doctor may prescribe medication, occupational therapy, or other treatments.
